Co-CEO of Ankore
Works
The talk will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005 in NAC Building Room 1/202.
ABSTRACT
While remote outsourcing has had an impact on some purely technical jobs, there are many aspects of information technology that cannot be moved. In particular for a technology project to be successful for a business, technology professionals are needed as information architects, business strategists and project managers. These semi-technical roles involve both technical and non-technical skills. The talk will focus on the speaker's experiences as a project manager in the various phases of a project. She will also share her thoughts on the other roles that she has played focusing on the differences in organization cultures, teams and project methodologies. The goal will be to give some feeling for what the industry looks like now (from the point of view of a consultant) as well as the job opportunities.
